
Work and Study in Canada:
"English CO-OP Program"
Offered in partnership with Tamwood International College in Vancouver and Whistler. This work and study program is designed to allow students to develop their English skills through a combination of English classes and work experience in a Canadian company. Students start with full time English classes and then move into a job placement. Students study as many hours as they work. Job assignments are PAID entry level positions in hotels, restaurants, shops, resorts and tourist attractions. Students can be of any age (minimum 19) and from any country - all that they need to possess is a desire to learn or improve their English and to have fun working in Canada.
Learn English through a combination of English classes and a fun Paid Job in the Canadian Tourism, Hospitality or Leisure industry. Learning English has never been so effective, so easy and so much fun!
1. Choose Your Program
Depending on your preferred start date, program duration and study and work locations, you can choose or will be assigned to one of the following program options:
Classic Structure
| Program Description | Students complete all their English study hours before starting their work practicum. Study can be completed in Vancouver or Whistler or a combination of both. Work placements are available in Vancouver and in numerous Canadian resort communities. Students can choose to have Basic Service or Full Service for their placement. |

Sandwich Structure
| Program Description | This is a variation of the Classic Structure. Many work placements are seasonal positions, with fixed start and end dates. To ensure that students complete their full required work practicum, their English studies may have to be split and completed in two study terms, one before the work practicum period and the other after the work practicum period. Study can be completed in Vancouver or Whistler or a combination of both. Students can choose to have Basic Service or Full Service for their placement. |

Integrated Structure - Vancouver
| Program Description | Students study for a minimum of 4 weeks before starting their work practicum and they complete the remainder of their study hours during the work practicum period by taking morning classes and working in the afternoons/evenings. Students must register for Basic Service Placement for this program option. |

Integrated Structure - Whistler
| Program Description | rogram Description This option is called the "Whistler Fun Program". Students complete some of their study requirement before starting their work practicum and complete the remaining study hours while working. Students must register for Full Service Placement for this program option as placements must be made at least 8 to 16 weeks before they arrive. |

2. Learn English
You will study as much time as you work. You can choose General English or one of Tamwood’s special English programs for your study term(s). 3. Start Work and Learn More English!
WHAT: You will get a paid placement in the service industry in a hotel, restaurant, café, tourist attraction, tour operator, summer camp or ski resort. We have lots of jobs including: food service, food preparation, hotel concierge, hotel room attendant, ticket seller, ski lift attendant, guest services, retail sales attendant, and tour guide.
WHERE: Placements are available in Vancouver, BC Interior, Whistler, Banff, Jasper, Lake Louise, Calgary, Vancouver Island, rural areas and Ontario.
HOW: There are two ways you can get your work placement:
Full Service Placement Service: We arrange your work placement with one of our carefully selected host companies. In some situations, a placement will be made prior to your arrival. We do all the work and you are guaranteed a placement.
Basic Service: We teach you job finding skills and then you lead your work placement search, allowing you to select who you want to work. We screen any job offers to ensure proper fit for your program.
Participant Eligibility
- Open to students of English from any country.
- Minimum age 19.
- Students must have upper intermediate level of English.
Visa Required
Study Permit and Work Permit (work permit issued on proof of acceptance in program and allows for work only at placement arranged by Go International)
Work Opportunities
Paid positions such as: ticket sellers, shop assistants, hotel positions (housekeeping), food service, cooking, bartending, grounds keeping, lift attendants...
