Canadian Internship Program

Participate in day-to-day operations to see how Canadian companies operate, develop new skills and make great contacts in your field. International work experience in Canada looks great on your resume and employers will see the value of your past work.

Internships Available

All placements in these fields are UNPAID. All fields require relevant education of at least 1-year at the university or college level.

You will be assigned to a field of work and a position in a company based on your chosen industry, your work experience, your education, the amount of time you are available to work, the state of the industry at the time you will be in Canada, your English level, your enthusiasm and your presentation. You will have a pre-screening by the GO International team and a company interview prior to receiving your placement.

Visa required: Employer Specific or Open Work Permit obtained through the International Experience Canada Initiative

To be eligible for the program:

If you are student, graduate, post-graduate, skilled worker or professional, and your English level is at least an intermediate level, and you qualify for the visa required for the program, you may be eligible for the Canadian Internship Program.

• Work permit obtained through the International Experience Canada Initiative ("Working Holiday", "Internship", "Young Professionals" categories) offered in the following countries: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Costa Rica, Chile, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Republic of Korea, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan and Ukraine
• Applicants must have upper intermediate level of English and work experience and/or education in their preferred field of work for their placement

The Canadian Internship Program (CIP) is a Full Service Program.

Full Service

Participants are offered a job before leaving their home country. They will know before arriving in Canada where they will work, when they will work, how much they will earn, and what they will do. We bring the employers to you!

Program includes:

• An Internship placement in Canada before arrival
• One year’s membership in the GO International Club (Hot Job List), which gives members access to discounts on services, tours and attractions and provides access to assistance from the Program Coordinator any time in the year, during normal business hours
• Orientation session at GO International offices in Vancouver, covering resources available at GO International and everything you need to know about working and living in Canada
• Walking Tour of Downtown Vancouver
• The GO International handbook called The Essential Guide to Working and Living in Canada
• Advice and ongoing assistance from GO International’s Program Coordinator
• Mail holding service, so you have a contact address as soon as you arrive
• Free call number for general questions or emergencies during office hours
• Social activities ranging from pub nights to ski trips in Vancouver

Optional Services

• English Classes at Tamwood International College in Vancouver or Whistler. Course options: General English, International Business English, TOEFL, Cambridge Exam Preparation, Private Tuition and English plus programs as golf, mountain bike, skiing and snowboarding
• Accommodation in dorm room at a central hostel in Vancouver (includes breakfast, linen, a towel, and a welcome drink)
• Accommodation with host family
• Airport Pick up services
• Medical Insurance
