This innovative English program offered in partnership with Tamwood International College in Vancouver combines English classes with an unpaid internship practicum in a Canadian company matched to your career interests. Internship placements are available in a wide range of fields and will be made based your stated preference, the time of year and your education, experience, language level and program duration.

Visa required:Regulation 205(c)(1),exemption code C-30. Students can apply for a work permit
pursuant to Regulation 205(c)(1), exemption code C-30, which grants work permits to students for "work that is part of a course of study" in Canada. You must apply for both a study permit and a work permit. You need a Letter of Acceptance from Tamwood confirming your acceptance in one of its work and study programs. The work permit issued allows you to work only as part of your course and names Tamwood as your employer.
To be eligible for the program:
- Open to students of English from any country
- Students must have upper intermediate level of English and work experience and/or education in their preferred field of work for their placement
- Hours of English study must be equal to hours of work for a student to successfully complete the program
The English Internship Program (EIP) is a Full Service Program.
Full Service
This innovative program combines English classes with an internship practicum in a Canadian company matched to your career interests. Internship placements are available in a wide range of fields and will be made based on your stated preference, the time of year and your education, experience, language level and program duration. Placement opportunities are unpaid.
Program includes:
- An Internship placement in Canada
- English Classes at Tamwood International College in Vancouver or Whistler. Course options: General English, International Business English, TOEFL , Cambridge Exam Preparation, Private Tuition
- Job Skills Seminar (5 hour class teaching resume and cover letter writing, interview skills, work place skills, work place etiquette and conflict resolution)
- One year membership in the GO International Club which gives members access to discounts on services, tours and attractions and provides access to assistance from the Program Coordinator any time in the year, during normal business hours
- Orientation session at GO International offices in Vancouver, covering resources available at GO International and everything you need to know about working and living in Canada
- Walking Tour of Downtown Vancouver
- The GO International handbook called The Essential Guide to Working and Living in Canada
- Advice and ongoing assistance from GO International’s Program Coordinator
- Mail holding service, so you have a contact address as soon as you arrive
- Free call number for general questions or emergencies during office hours
- Social activities ranging from pub nights to ski trips in Vancouver
- A certificate for successful completion of program

- Accommodation in dorm room at a central hostel in Vancouver (includes breakfast, linen, a towel, and a welcome drink)

Length of stay between 4 - 48 months (half of program is English classes and half is a work practicum).
