
Canadian Volunteer Program
If you have ever wanted to travel to Canada and have the chance to enrich your own life as well as the lives of others, here is your opportunity! Go International is now offering volunteer placements to individuals travelling to or within Canada in the areas of Wildlife, Environment and Conservation, Education or Social Services. Read below for more details on how to Volunteer in Canada!
Who Qualifies?
Recent graduates from high school, college or university, professionals taking a career break, recent retirees, individuals or groups who are physically fit and interested in a change and the chance to enrich their own life and the lives of others. If you are 18 years or older you can apply for any of the placements available.
The Orientation Program
You will take part in an orientation session (included in the program fee) upon arrival covering topics such as:
- The role of volunteers in the Canada
- How to be an effective volunteer
- How to follow work place safety procedures
- Effective workplace communications
- Local culture, history and customs
The Volunteer Projects
GO International will arrange a suitable volunteer placement for you in one of the following projects based on your stated preferences as well as your language skills, education, experience, start date, duration and physical fitness level. Placement commitment ranges from 10 to 30 hours per week. Possible placements include:
- Wild Life, Environment and Conservation: trail construction, tree planting, animal rescue, organic farming, beach cleanup
- Education: immigrant services, language training, cultural training, charitable summer camps
- Social Service: childcare, senior care, disabilities, women’s issues, adoption agencies, fundraising for charities, legal advocacy, hospital volunteer work, charitable summer camps

Vancouver, Whistler, Rural Communities, National, Provincial and Regional Parks
What the Program Includes
- Phone interview prior to arrival
- Assignment to a suitable volunteer placement in Canada
- Volunteer Orientation
- Team Leader: team leaders who have been selected for their management skills, cultural sensitivity and commitment to GO International’s philosophy of service.
- Program Coordination: site visits, orientation materials, and host communications are covered by volunteer service program fees.
Optional Services
- English Classes at Tamwood International College
- Transfers and accommodation on arrival: airport transfer, 2 night hostel welcome package or homestay accommodation
- Transfers to volunteer placement and accommodation while on placement
- Medical insurance
